Common questions

Q: How long will my repair take?

A: In most cases your amp will be looked at within 24 hours of drop-off, at this point if parts are needed we will contact you for permission to order the parts, your amp will be finished within 48 hours of arrival of the parts

Q: What if I need my amp fixed ASAP?
A: Just let me know, I'm sure we can figure something out!

Q: What if my amp is only worth $300 to begin with, it doesn't seem wise to spend $120 on tubes plus $120 for you guys to put them in, right?
A: Only you can decide the answer to this kind of question, but unfortunately the value of an amp does not determine the cost of labor

Q: How do you treat vintage amps?
A: We treat vintage amps the way you want them to be treated, we don't impose "rules" on your amp.  We're happy to put an effects loop on your vintage Marshall, but we're also enthusiastic about maintaining originality and period-correctness, should that be important to you.  Just let us know what you want and we'll graciously accommodate.

Q:  What kind of amp modifications do you offer?
A: Really just about anything, our favorite mods are subtle changes that make a good amp great, but sometimes adding a new switch or knob can really open up an amp's capabilities.

Q: Can I get an estimate?
A: I can let you know approximately what we're looking at, but ultimately shop-time must be paid for to have your amp looked at.

Q: Can I bring parts to have installed?
A: Generally yes, as long as the parts are suitable and appear in good order.  We do not require that you purchase parts/components through us, though that is always welcome!

Q: How do I get my amp fixed?
A: Either email info@nevisamplification.com or use the website's chat function ("Questions Answered Here") Our phone number can be provided upon request, at the moment we're keeping it off the website to avoid the scourge of spam attacks.
